Milky White Nail Polish Ideas
Do you love the look of white nails? So do we! The classic white nail look is just that…classic and chic. It’s a color you can always count on for a sleek manicure aesthetic. Recently, there’s been a variation of white polish that’s been getting really popular. We’d like to introduce you to the milky white manicure. In essence, it’s a white manicure but the white polish used to create this look gives more of a, well…milky appearance or finish to the nails. If you’re not quite sure what a milky white nail polish look is you’re in luck because we’ve gathered up a handful of stunning designs for you to get a better idea of the trend.
Add some edgy glam to milky white nails with silver, spiked rhinestones on one nail. The juxtaposition between the edgy rhinestones and softness of milky white are the combination we didn’t know we’d love so much.
2Milky White Edge
Another fun way to add a bit of edge to a traditionally soft nail color, like milky white. Painting the ends of the nails in black polish, with this triangular shape, really transforms the light nail color. Such a unique way to spice up French tip manicures, too.
Love milky white nails, but still want some bright pops of color? This manicure is a great combination of those two design elements. Using dried flowers, in bright colors, makes the flowers look like they’re inside the nails for a different twist to floral nails.
4Fluttering Milky White
We’ve noticed butterfly shaped glitter has been popping up on nails EVERYWHERE. Because they are! These iridescent glitter pieces are a fun match for milky white nails. The white color keeps the manicure light, without taking too much attention away from the glitter.
Milky white nail polish is a great color to use a foundation color to build off of. This manicure is proof of that. The milky white color is soft and subtle, but still adds a bit of definition to the entire look. We love the chevron design painted on top.
6Clouded in Milky White
We adore these milky white nails. Combining solid milky white polish with this cloud-like design on the other nails is such a cool way to add a bit of depth to the design overall. The clouded look allows for pops of clear acrylics to pop through, giving that dimension.
Who knew milky white nails were so versatile?! Ok, you may have – but it’s still fun to see how people are adapting the trend in their own way. These nails get a pop of edge with the chrome textured look fading into milky white polish.
Milky white polish is a great color to use when you want to achieve a really feminine nail aesthetic. These nails are a prime example of feminine design! The white glitter, delicate design and use of white is all you need for a gorgeous result.
Floral designed nails are anything but new, which is why we really love these particular floral nails. Using life-like flowers to create the dried flower look is a modernized approach to the look. Such a perfect pairing to milky white polish.
10Milky White French Tips
Well, if this isn’t an update to the French tip manicure we don’t know what is. Using milky white polish all over the nails, separating the tip from the base of the nail with a thin gold glitter line is such a stunning interpretation.
11Fruit + Milk
Summertime manicure for the win! Milky white is the perfect summertime nail color, but it certainly gets even more of a summer vibe with fruit designs added throughout the nails.
12Milky White Glitter Ombre
Milky white + ombre + glitter = stunning! Talk about an all-star combination, right? Opting for milky white with a design like this, instead of classic white, really adds a lighter aesthetic to the overall design.
13Foiled Milky White
Add a funky twist to milky white nails with gold foiling applied to the nails. We love how the pop of gold foiling not only adds a metallic touch, but also gives some texture to the manicure.
14Gold Leaf Accented
Another way to work with gold foiling, or leaves, to milky white nails. This design is a bit more subtle than the previous. We thought the small touches was absolutely gorgeous with the almond shape of the nails.
What can we say, milky white goes incredibly well with gold! Classic gold elements used here, like gold stripes and glitter get a modern feel the way they were applied to milky white nails.
16Half Glitz Half Milk
Aren’t these nails fun? There really isn’t any nail color glitter doesn’t elevate, in our opinion. This half and half design is pretty simplistic, but because the glitter and milky white are so drastically different it creates an epic manicure.
We couldn’t resist another glitter manicure. Here they used large iridescent glitter pieces for yet another take on this nail polish combination. We really like the stripe of glitter paired with a solid glitter nail to play off the milky white color.
If you like French tip manicures, but want a modern feel – use milky white to create a French tip OMBRE design. It’s such a classy, pretty look. Keep it as is, or do like they did here and add delicate design using the same milky white polish.
As you’ve probably noticed, milky white polish is highly favored when creating French ombre nails. This classic design is easy to build off of to put your own twist to nails. Painting white leaves with touches of glitter is feminine, glam and pretty.
Fashionistas – these nails are for you! All you need is milky white polish and your favorite designer logo embellishments (or pieces of glitter). Using premade glitter pieces make it super easy to get designer inspired manicure.
We’ve shown you quite a few milky white nails with gold touches, but we wanted to make sure to include some silver in the list. Silver is just as gorgeous of a pairing, as you can tell. The stripe of glitter, next to an all glitter nails is (clearly) turning in to a big nail trend!
22Mixed with Neon
Add an unexpected pop of color to milky white nails with a neon nail accent! The neon yellow nail is a big shift from the softness of milky white, which is why we think it works so well. Gorgeous summertime manicure!
Neon + milky white = love! Painting neon stripes in this rainbow like structure gives you the chance to add even more color to your milky white nails. This is a great design to reference no matter how long (or short) your nails are.
We’re not quite done with the rainbow themed manicures using milky white as the base color. Milky white is such an easy color to use for a colorful French tip manicure like this. The colors pop without taking away from the milky white.
25Milky White Glam
Monochromatic glam right here! Using white, or clear based, rhinestones gives these nails the monochromatic twist. Applying the rhinestones to one accent nail gives it a little twist and some texture to the manicure.
Roses are….white! We love a white rose, especially when they’re painted onto milky white nails. Another example of using a monochromatic color scheme, yet giving major dimension to the manicure.
27Rounded Milky White
This is for those of you who like to keep your nails classic and simple. Milky white polish gives even the most minimal of manicures a gorgeous modern upgrade. It’s a bit softer than classic white.
28Edgy Glam White
Here we have a manicure that’s fairly similar to the previous, with milky white being painted simply on top of nails. The difference is the sharper tips of the nails, adding a bit of edge and rhinestones applied, adding some glam.
Shining stars get a stylish twist with these nails. Painting silver stars onto milky white nails is such a fun look! We don’t think stars will ever get old, do you? Use any color glitter to shake up this design in your own way.
We just love the way milky white polish looks when applied so minimally to nails. It’s a gorgeous color to use when you want to really focus on the length or shape of your nails. These stunning almond shaped nails need nothing other than milky white polish to look great.
